Job Overview

Seeking a full-time pediatric hand surgeon, board certified/eligible in orthopedic surgery, with fellowship in hand & upper extremity surgery. Experience and interest in pediatric patients, especially brachial plexus birth injuries, are preferred.

• Work primarily at Shriners Children’s Hospital Northern California, with possible academic duties at UC Davis Medical Center.
• Care for congenital malformations, brachial plexus palsy, fractures, soft tissue injuries, deformities, and surgical reconstruction for cerebral palsy, tetraplegia, burns.
• Supported by a care team including a care manager, physician assistant, occupational and hand therapists.
• Collaborate with specialists across the region, including multiple training programs and medical students.

The pay range is $508,948-$771,855, based on experience and departmental equity.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, with 5 nights and 2 weekend shifts per quarter
• Fulfill the hospital’s tripartite mission: patient care, research, and education

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completed an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency
• Board certified/eligible by ABOS or in final year of residency, with subspecialty certification if appropriate
• Fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery
• California medical license or eligibility
• Experience treating pediatric hand patients, especially brachial plexus injuries
