Job summary

UVA Health Children’s pediatric gastroenterology team seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to care for infants, children and teens with complex feeding disorders and enteral nutrition needs. The role offers continuity across inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities to build long-term patient relationships during hospitalization and after discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program; master’s required.
• Virginia licensing eligibility; BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as position requires.
• Pediatrics experience; gastroenterology preferred; new graduates considered.
• Ability to provide longitudinal care and coordinate inpatient/outpatient transitions.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and longitudinal management of pediatric patients with enteral nutrition.
• Participate in inpatient consult service ~20% effort and ambulatory clinic 6.5 half-day sessions weekly.
• Develop feeding plans with dietitians, speech-language pathologists, nursing, and other team members.
• Order/interpret labs and imaging; prescribe enteral therapies; educate patients and families.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EMR and coordinate discharge planning.
• Support weekday clinical coverage with no routine weekend/holiday duties.
