Job summary

Responsibilities include collecting patient data, recording vital signs, documenting visits, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting patient education for self-management.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a medical assistant or EMT program or licensing exception.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 1-year related experience preferred.
• National certs/registrations (e.g., CCMA, CMA‑AAMA, CMA‑C, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA variants, EMT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in collecting patient/family data including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information.
• Collects and documents vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit with accuracy.
• Updates documentation to reflect care at other locations, current medications, allergies, and other protocol details.
• Prepares patient for examination and assists provider during treatments and examinations.
• Completes and documents treatments and interventions as directed by provider.
• Documents and administers medication and immunizations as directed by physician.
• Supports patients in self-management through education.
