Peds - Gastroenterology Opening in Northern Louisiana

The physician will work in a long-established pediatric gastroenterology practice with full capabilities for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

Important facts about the Children's Health and Pediatric GI Service

• Health system known for regional excellence in patient care, innovative management, extensive clinical research, and a focus on medical education.
• Primary outpatient GI service with ER, NICU, PICU, and inpatient consultation.
• Serves patients in Northern Louisiana, South Arkansas, and East Texas.
• Manages general gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional diseases.
• Provides full endoscopy services, including traditional and advanced procedures such as ERCP, EUS, and EMR.
• Features a large, well-staffed outpatient infusion center.
• GI hospital admissions are managed by pediatric hospitalists and intensivists.
• Involves teaching rotating medical students and residents.
• Offers opportunities for clinical research and academic affiliation.
• GI on-call schedule with nurse practitioner as first call.
• Handles emergency foreign bodies and G-tubes with the pediatric surgery team.
• Requires board-certified or board-eligible pediatric gastroenterologists.
• Expertise in liver disease, IBD, eosinophilic disease, pancreaticobiliary disease, feeding, and nutritional disorders.
• Additional skills in GI motility are encouraged but not required.
• Interest in teaching residents and medical students.
