Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks a faculty physician responsible for the care of patients in the hospital and clinics, as well as research, educational and advocacy initiatives as determined by the Division Chief and/or the Center leadership.

The role requires an MD, full medical licensure, board certification or eligibility, and a commitment to world‑class patient care, teaching trainees, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD required from an accredited medical school.
• Fully licensed attending staff on Children’s National Medical Center's medical staff (required).
• Board certified or eligible for board certification in primary practice specialty (required).
• Board certification in relevant secondary specialty (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services for patients at Children’s National Hospital and approved sites.
• Oversee medical care team and manage direct patient care; ensure continuity of care and timely records.
• Provide on-call services as determined by division leadership.
• Participate in family centered care and communicate professionally with patients and families.
• Engage in advocacy, education, research, and quality/compliance efforts.
