Job summary

Ascension in Evansville, IN seeks a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join an employed, nonprofit health system. You’ll diagnose and treat diverse pediatric GI conditions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and coordinate inpatient/outpatient care in a busy regional hub.

Fellowship in Pediatric GI is required; board certification/eligibility; Indiana MD/DO licensure and DEA registration preferred. This role offers growth within a mission-driven environment and strong support resources.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat pediatric GI patients, coordinating with case management for inpatient consultations and discharge planning.
• Collaborate within a regional specialty network to manage outpatient clinic operations and accept regional referrals.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated physician to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Join an established team of physicians and dedicated multidisciplinary support staff
• Call structure: TBD (No nights or weekends required)
• Practice setting: Inpatient / Outpatient mix
• Access to Athena & Sunrise Clinical Manager EMR, a behavioral-based outpatient Feeding Program, dedicated pediatric registered dietitians, and integrated pediatric psychologists
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a diverse population of pediatric patients presenting with complex gastroenterology conditions, coordinating closely with case management for inpatient consultations and discharge planning.
• Collaborate within an established specialty network to manage outpatient clinic operations, accept regional provider referrals, and contribute to initiatives that optimize the quality and cost-effectiveness of care.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Gastroenterology required

• 54-bed regional pediatric inpatient hub (featuring a 32-bed NICU, 15-bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit, and a 7-bed PICU)
• Level II Pediatric Trauma Verification
• Serving a population of approximately 300,000 in the greater Evansville metropolitan area
• Integrated referral network combining comprehensive maternal-fetal medicine, dedicated pediatric emergency providers, and an established multi-specialty Outpatient Pediatric Specialty Clinic

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
