Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Pediatric Faculty member in Interventional Radiology with focus on clinical care, research and education of residents and fellows. The role includes service at multiple UM/JMH locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties with opportunities in clinic and on-call IR duties.

The Assistant Professor of Clinical will supervise staff, participate in teaching activities, and contribute to ongoing quality assurance and research within pediatric IR.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent).
• Florida Medical License or equivalent; American Board of Radiology Certification; ACLS, BLS and PALS certification; DEA License.
• Completion of an ACGME approved Fellowship Program in Pediatric Interventional Radiology as well as Vascular Interventional Radiology.

Responsibilities

• Interpret pediatric interventional radiology imaging studies and perform pediatric interventional procedures.
• Assist in development and implementation of new and innovative pediatric interventional procedures.
• Evaluate pediatric patients pre- and post intervention and contribute to outpatient clinics expansion for interventional pediatric procedures.
• Supervise performance of technical personnel.
• Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in IR clinic.
• Exercise quality assurance related to pediatric interventional imaging.
• Provide pediatric interventional imaging consultation as requested.
• Provide emergency pediatric patient care as required in IR setting.
• Be on-call for Interventional Radiology.
• Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman.
• Participate in teaching activities for resident/fellow and medical student education; department committees; research activities.

JOB SUMMARY

Pediatric Faculty, Interventional Radiology – Pediatric Interventional Radiology provides medical care to large array of patients by providing minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. The Assistant Professor of Clinical is focused on clinical care, research, and training of residents and fellows. As assigned by the Chairman, the faculty member will provide service at the following UM/ JMH locations in Miami Dade and Broward County: UHealth SoleMia, UHealth Doral, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – Plantation, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center - Deerfield Beach, Lennar Foundation Medical Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition to these locations, the faculty members may see patients in clinic at the Desai Sethi Medical Center.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Be part of the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology
• Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman related to the practice of interventional imaging.
• Participate in teaching activities related to interventional radiology as required in:
  • Residency/fellowship training programs
  • Medical student education program
  • Technological radiology educational programs
  • Continuing medical education programs
• Serve on Departmental, University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Medical Center committees and provide service to the same in other manners as requested.
• Participate in research activities as an investigator and mentor.
