Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER Pediatric unit at the New Brunswick campus. This role supports pediatric emergency care during the night shift, requiring strong clinical skills and collaborative teamwork.

The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care in line with regulatory standards and hospital policies, while maintaining safety and evidence-based practice. New Jersey license and PALS are essential, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Required: ASN or Nursing Diploma.
• PALS.
• 4–5 years of Pediatric ED RN or Pediatric Critical Care RN experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Preferred: BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
• Pediatric RN experience highly preferred.
• National certification and TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• The RN provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Maintains awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice and applies evidence-based practices.
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Collaborates with other patient care providers and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Sets and evaluates priorities with measurable outcomes towards improvement.
