Job summary

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, documentation, and adherence to safety policies. Rotation and PRN status with differential shifts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Nursing student currently enrolled; completed 1st semester and 1st clinical.
• Bilingual English plus additional language abilities and related experience.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days; RN licensure within 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient safety and report observations to the Charge Nurse or designee.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, BP, intake/output).
• Assist with activities of daily living (meals, ambulation, hygiene, linen changes, toileting).
• Maintain therapeutic plan and minute-to-minute care for patients at extreme risk to self or others.
• Complete documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Fulfill duties listed in the UNM UAP Specific Functions Matrix.
