Job summary

WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA SCHOOL FOR BLIND CHILDREN seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide enteral feeding care for students during the school day. The role emphasizes safe feeding administration, nursing assessment, and collaboration with educators, families, and healthcare providers.

The Enteral Feeding Nurse supports student health and educational participation, working with team nurses, teachers, and therapists to ensure prescribed feedings and hydration are accurately provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing Program.
• Current Pennsylvania LPN license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience with enteral feeding preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed enteral feedings via G-tube, GJ-tube, or J-tube according to physician orders.
• Monitor students during feedings for signs of intolerance or complications.
• Coordinate with families regarding enteral feeding supplies and physician orders.
• Document feedings, water flushes, student tolerance, and equipment concerns in health records.
