Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Endocrinology is seeking an RN/Diabetes Educator (CDE) to provide comprehensive diabetes education for pediatric patients and their families across the continuum of care. The role supports providers, reviews treatment needs, and stays current with ADA/ADE standards and diabetes technology.

The position requires an accredited nursing degree, CT RN licensure, and BLS/CPR on hire, with CDE preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: RN degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• BSN in Nursing preferred; if ADN, BSN within 3 years of hire.
• Current CT RN licensure and BLS/CPR required.
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred; certification within 2–3 years if not yet certified.
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive diabetes education for children and families.
• Support providers with treatment recommendations within RN scope.
• Deliver diabetes and nutrition education for research protocols.
• Maintain knowledge of ADA/ADE standards and diabetes technology.
• Participate in rotating weekend on-call to educate new diabetes diagnoses.
