Job summary

St. Lukes University Health Network is seeking a Board Certified/Board-eligible fellowship-trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join the team at St. Lukes Children’s Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department in Bethlehem, PA.

The role includes shifts from 11 AM to 9 PM with a goal of 24/7 coverage, supportive pediatric nurses, malpractice coverage, and a growing 6-to-10 bed unit with EM resident support.

Qualifications

• Must be board-certified/eligible fellowship-trained PEM physician.
• Pediatric residency completed with PEM focus.
• Active medical license in PA or eligible for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pediatric emergency care in a busy ED.
• Support and mentor PEM residents and EM staff.
• Participate in teaching, research, and program development within the department.

About the St. Lukes Childrens Hospital:

• The Pediatric Emergency Department at St. Lukes Childrens Hospital is a 6-bed unit (currently undergoing an expansion project to 10 beds) providing care to over 10,000 children per year.
• St. Lukes Childrens Hospital and Department of Pediatrics consists of inpatient, neonatal, emergency medicine, specialty and primary care providers spread across a variety of practice locations.
• The Childrens Hospital includes a 17-bed inpatient unit and 8-bed PICU. A pediatric hospitalist and pediatric intensivist are in house 24/7.
• The department is supported by a growing team of pediatric specialists spanning 40 specialty areas including pediatric surgery, GI, endocrinology, nephrology, developmental pediatrics, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, psychiatry, pulmonology, radiology, anesthesia, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and more!
• Pediatric residency with 6 pediatric residents per year.
• Robust 16 campus Network spread over a diverse geographic area providing emergency care for over 320,000 patients annually.
• St. Lukes Emergency Medicine program includes comprehensive stroke centers, 4 PCI centers, a level 1 trauma center, a level 2 trauma center and four level 4 trauma centers.
• In addition to patient care, the emergency department also supports and trains emergency medicine residents at two separate emergency medicine residencies at St. Lukes University Hospital - Bethlehem (36 residents) and St. Lukes Anderson Campus (30 residents).
