Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a compassionate Clinical Social Worker to join the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics in Charleston. You will conduct comprehensive assessments and coordinate care for children with developmental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental challenges.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in social work from an accredited program.
• At least 4 years of related work experience.
• Current South Carolina LISW license.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Conduct evaluations of patients and families to identify needs, barriers, and strengths related to developmental, behavioral, and emotional health.
• Treatment: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including counseling, psychoeducation, behavioral support, and brief therapeutic services for children and families.
• Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, therapists, educators, and external providers to ensure integrated, family-centered care. Help families navigate systems such as schools, Medicaid, and disability services.
• Advocate for patients and families by facilitating referrals to community resources and support services.
• Document services and communications in accordance with MUSC policies, licensing standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in team conferences, diagnostic evaluations, and care planning sessions.
• Support program development and outreach initiatives within the community.
