Qualifications

• MD required.
• Current DEA and DPS certificate of registration.
• Minimum 1 year experience in pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients to meet medical needs; diagnoses and treats acute, chronic, and long-term health issues.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient health needs.
• Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient condition.
• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other therapies such as physical therapy or inhalation therapy.
• Oversees mid-level medical staff and nursing staff; orders studies, tests and ancillary services.
• Maintains confidential medical records and documents evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
• Consults with Medical Director and other staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education.
• Assists in resolving patient inquiries; may refer patients to specialists; orders appropriate diagnostic tests per protocol.
• Educates patients/families about preventive care and medications; ensures confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborates with medical staff and shares knowledge to support professional development.
• Maintains efficient use of hospital resources and serves as a role model.
• Records applicable patient charges promptly for proper billing.
