Job summary

Shawnee Health is seeking a Pediatric Dentist to join our new Children's Dental Center in Marion, IL. You’ll deliver comprehensive pediatric care, including procedures under general anesthesia, in a child-centric setting designed for comfort and education.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, mentor students, and participate in community outreach while upholding strict safety and HIPAA standards. Illinois licensure and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Dentistry.
• Valid Illinois dental license and CPR certification.
• Familiarity with electronic dental records and imaging software.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, including exams, preventive services, and restorative care.
• Full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia.
• Develop personalized treatment plans and educate parents/guardians to ensure positive dental experiences.
• Utilize advanced behavior management techniques for young or special needs patients.
• Maintain adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in community oral health promotion, education, and prevention programs.
• Mentor and train dental students as appropriate.
• Engage in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
