Job summary

Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Pediatric Dentist – Associate to join our family-oriented practice in Knoxville, TN. You will provide comprehensive pediatric dental care with a focus on compassionate, age-appropriate treatment and positive patient experiences.

The ideal candidate has a DDS or DMD from an accredited school, completed pediatric residency (or 3 years pediatric experience), and current BLS/PALS with license in good standing. In-office presence is required.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • Active state dental license.
  • Completion of a pediatric dentistry residency or 3 years of pediatric experience.
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications.
  • 4 years of pediatric dentistry experience with behavior management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric dental care including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, extractions, and space maintainers.
  • Diagnose dental conditions and develop patient-specific treatment plans.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques for a calm patient experience.
  • Educate patients and guardians on oral hygiene and prevention.
  • Administer nitrous oxide and/or sedation as licensed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
  • Ensure HIPAA and infection-control compliance.
  • Collaborate with general dentists and specialists for integrated care.
  • Participate in team meetings and community outreach.
  • Foster a child-friendly environment and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties to support operations.

Description


  • Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry – a well-established, family-oriented practice known for providing compassionate, comprehensive dental care – is currently looking for a Pediatric Dentist - Associate as follows.

  • Provide pediatric dental care, including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, extractions, and space maintainers

  • Diagnose dental conditions and develop individualized, age-appropriate treatment plans

  • Utilize behavior management techniques to ensure a calm and positive patient experience

  • Educate patients and parents/guardians on proper oral hygiene and preventive care

  • Administer nitrous oxide and/or sedation as licensed and permitted

  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes in the EHR

  • Ensure compliance with safety, sterilization, HIPAA, and infection control protocols

  • Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, and other specialists to provide integrated patient care

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community outreach programs promoting children’s oral health

  • Contribute to a professional, upbeat, and child-friendly environment for patients and staff

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, patient satisfaction, and case acceptance

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations


Position based in Knoxville, TN and requires in-office presence.


Position requires (i) DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school, (ii) active state license to practice dentistry, (iii) completion of an accredited pediatric dentistry residency program or 3 years of experience working with pediatric patients, (iv) current BLS and PALS certification; and (v) 4 years of experience with pediatric dentistry, including experience with child behavior management, reduction of treatment anxiety, effective communication with parents, and safely perform procedures on young patients.
