Job summary

Oak Tree Pediatric Dentistry in Greenville, SC is seeking a friendly Dental Assistant who loves working with kids. You will assist the dentist, perform coronal polishing where appropriate, and help educate patients and families on oral health.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with at least 6 months of DA experience or 1 year without x-ray certification (certification within 90 days). Knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA is essential, along with a patient‑centered approach and flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of Dental Assistant experience with x-ray certification OR at least one year of direct dental assisting experience without current X-ray certification, but must obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA policies.
• Customer Service experience – Friendly and helpful demeanor with patients and co-workers.
• Flexibility – Must adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
• Ability to work well under stressful situations.
• Must be available to travel to other locations to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate dental care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs and according to dentist’s orders.
• Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
• Provides diagnostic information by taking all radiographs and quantity of radiographs deemed medically necessary by the clinical judgement of the treating dentist.
• Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments using four-handed dentistry.
• Maintain appropriate certifications and/or licensures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
