Job summary

A Kids Place Dentistry Too for Children in Seattle is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to support the dentist chairside and educate families on oral health. You will help with treatments, patient comfort, and record-keeping in a friendly, kid-focused environment.

The role requires dental assisting experience or completion of an approved program, active BLS/WISHA familiarity preferred, and a WA Dental Assisting Registration.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in a Dental Assisting role OR successful completion of a dental assisting program with externship.
• Experience working with children, preferred
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, parents, and clinic staff
• Healthcare BLS and WISHA trainings, preferred
• Current, Washington State Dental Assisting Registration
• Ability to pass a pre-employment professional references check

Responsibilities

• As a Pediatric Dental Assistant you will work chairside with the doctor to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction.
• A typical day will consist of preparing the patient for dental hygiene, welcoming and seating patients, and draping as needed.
• Answer questions and provide parents or guardians with information about patients’ oral health, treatment, and hygiene.
• Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide a high level of care.
• Complete and review patient charts, examine mouth health, apply sealants, take x-rays, and assist with preventive/restorative procedures.
