Job summary

IU Health's Riley Hospital for Children invites applications for a Full-Time Entry-Level Dental Assistant in the pediatric dental team. The role is day-shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with no call, weekends, or holidays, offering a consistent schedule.

You will support dentists and assist with patient care, manage flows and education, and help with radiography under supervision. No license required to start, but you must obtain a Dental Radiology License within 9 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• BLS-CPR certification required.
• Active Indiana Dental Radiology license required within 9 months.
• Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program or on-the-job training with minimum of 2 years experience.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work with patients from diverse backgrounds and with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care in a clinical setting under supervision.
• Maintains accurate collection and reporting of patient intake data and medical history.
• Facilitates patient flow and provides patient education and insurance explanations.
• Prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Obtains diagnostic dental X-rays using safe radiology processes.
• Maintains aseptic/sterile processing of instruments and supplies.
• Performs administrative duties and schedules patient visits.
