Responsibilities

• Assist the pediatric dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and break down operatory post-treatment.
• Take, develop and mount dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Maintain infection control protocols and sterilize treatment areas.
• Interact positively with children and parents, providing oral hygiene information.
• Manage dental supplies inventory and anticipate needed items.
• Document services in patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Support with office administrative tasks when needed.

This is a part-time or full-time (4-5 days) position located at our practice. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will be an integral member of our dental care team, working directly under the supervision of our pediatric dentist to ensure the delivery of effective dental treatments and exceptional patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the pediatric dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Set up and break down operatory post-treatment
• Take, develop and mount dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Manage dental office infection control protocol and ensure that all treatment areas are sterilized
• Interact positively with children and parents while providing information and educational resources on oral hygiene
• Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
• Document dental care services by charting in patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide support with office administrative tasks when necessary
• Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed of new dental products and techniques for pediatric care

Requirements
