Job summary
UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide expert anesthesia care in a pediatric setting. You will work with board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists, participate in a variety of complex cases, and contribute to teaching SRNAs and GRNAs.
Shifts are 10 to 12 hours with some on-call after orientation, and opportunities for professional growth, research involvement, and a supportive team environment are highlighted in
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program required.
- Knowledgeable regarding controlled substance policies in accordance with Federal and State laws required.
- CPR required based on AHA standards; ACLS/PALS as required by institution on hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CRNA certification are required.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse in PA required.
- Board Certified, Recertified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia and related peri-anesthesia care (pre-op to post-anesthesia care).
- Monitor patients’ responses to anesthetic agents and adjust accordingly.
- Collaborate with supervising physician and multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with teaching and evaluation of SRNAs and GRNAs.
- Comply with regulatory standards and documentation including informed consent and site verification.
- Participate in Quality Improvement processes and incident reporting.
