Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Critical Care physician for per diem coverage at our Naperville program. The unit features 16-bed combined pediatric floor/critical care with on-site and home-call options.

You will work with an integrated subspecialty team and pediatric hospitalists to provide high-quality care around the clock. This role focuses on pure clinical and administrative duties, with no teaching requirements, and offers flexible scheduling for

Qualifications

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency.
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship.
  • Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
  • Eligible for medical licensing in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Provide per diem on-call coverage 24 hours, evenings, overnight and weekends.
  • Deliver pediatric critical care for ICU and emergency department.
  • Collaborate with subspecialists and pediatric hospitalists.
  • Lead clinical and administrative functions in a transitioning program.

Job description

Position Highlights
  • Position: EHMG Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care
  • Location: 801 S. Washington St Naperville IL 60540
  • Per Diem on-call coverage 24 hour, evening/overnight and weekend shifts available
  • This posting is intended to fill multiple Per Diem Intensivist positions
  • Salary range: $90/hour home call rate; converts to $200/hour rate for in-person rounding or emergencies that require an on-site presence
About Our PICU Program
Unit Specifications
  • Bed Capacity: 16-bed combined Pediatric floor/critical care unit
Patient Population
  • Medical and general surgical pediatric patients (no post-operative cardiac surgery)
No Teaching Requirements

Pure clinical and administrative focus

Advanced Capabilities & Services
  • Advanced mechanical ventilation strategies
  • Comprehensive procedural services (intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc.)
  • Pediatric sedation services
  • Critical care consultation to pediatric emergency department
  • Close collaboration with on-site pediatric subspecialists

Note: We do not currently offer ECMO or CRRT services.

Staffing Model & Schedule
Program Transition & Growth Opportunity

We are transitioning from a contracted physician group to an Endeavor-employed model, with an employed Medical Director staffing the unit M-F daylight. We are looking to round out this staffing model with a team of dedicated pediatric intensivists to provide on-call service nights and weekends.

Current Support
  • Pediatric Hospitalists: 24/7 in-house coverage with PICU experience
  • Neonatology: In-house 24/7
  • No APP Coverage: Direct physician-led care model
Experience Preferred
  • Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care, also open to recent graduates of a qualified pediatric critical care fellowship program
  • Experience in community PICU settings

Minimum Certification Requirements
  • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Required: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Board certification/Board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
