Job description

Swedish Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Critical Care Physician & Medical Director to join their team of 4 other Pediatric Intensivists to provide round-the-clock care in our 6-bed PICU. Our Pediatric Critical Care is a hallmark at the Swedish First Hill Campus and includes a 6-bed PICU where our multidisciplinary team, including highly trained PICU nurses, Pediatric Hospitalists, and Pediatric Specialists, work together to ensure the well-being of critically ill children. Leadership opportunities exist within the Pediatric Critical Care team to oversee the Pediatric Critical Care program, ensure strong communication with Pediatric Intensivists, and work in partnership with their administrative partners. About Us:

  • Swedish First Hill Campus is one of Seattle's largest and most comprehensive hospitals, renowned for its advanced medical and surgical care. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide care for young patients. Medical Director Responsibilities:
  • Oversee services including PICU, Procedural Sedation, and Critical Care Transport.
  • Lead the Pediatric Critical Care team, ensuring high standards of care and effective communication among pediatric intensivists, hospitalists, and specialists.
  • Oversee the Pediatric Critical Care program, including program development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with administrative partners to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
  • Emphasize family-centered care, providing support and comfort to patients and their families during their stay. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide round-the-clock care in our 6-bed PICU, ensuring the well-being of critically ill children.
  • Utilize advanced medical technology to deliver exceptional care.
  • Engage in family-centered care, offering support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Work within a collaborative team including Pediatric Critical Care physicians, Pediatric Hospitalists, Pediatric Specialists, and highly skilled PICU dedicated nursing staff.
  • Provide pediatric sedation and support. What We Offer:

  • Compensation is between $280,501 and $386,740 per year.
  • The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them. Qualifications:
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with pediatric deep sedation.
