Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Independently make clinical decisions within professional prerogatives.
• Maintains current knowledge of all phases of pharmacy practice.
• Familiar with medical/nursing practices and patient care concepts.

Responsibilities

• Counsel physicians on drug therapies and chart progress notes.
• Provide drug information to nurses, patients, and families.
• Review and prioritize physician orders for appropriate therapy.
• Maintain patient profiles, notes, and narcotics records.
• Dispense pharmaceuticals and check unit dose/IV admixtures.
• Take admitting drug histories and clarify allergies.
• Participate in CPR and drug-utilization evaluations.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in staff appraisals.
• Contribute to service principles delivering high-quality care.
