Job summary

Genesis PrimeCare in Texarkana, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our clinic team full time. The CMA/LVN delivers patient care, administers immunizations, prepares patients for exams, records vitals in the EMR, and supports providers to maintain efficient clinic flow.

Required: current BLS CPR, LVN license or CMA certification, and a TX/AR license to practice. Preferred: one year of direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Current CPR (BLS) certification required.
• LVN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Unrestricted license to practice as LVN in TX or AR.
• National CMA certification is required or alternative CMA path.

Responsibilities

• Administer immunizations and provide health education.
• Prepare patients for examinations and document vital signs in EMR.
• Assist providers to ensure optimal patient care and clinic flow.
• Coordinate referrals and medication needs; maintain supplies and equipment.

Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team in a professional and compassionate manner within the clinic setting. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, including administering immunizations and providing health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established clinical standards.

The CMA/LVN prepares patients for examinations, obtains and documents vital signs and health information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and assists providers to ensure optimal patient care and flow. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and delegating referrals, prescribed medications, and other patient needs; maintaining medical supplies, medications, and equipment; and ensuring accurate documentation of all care provided.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification (BLS)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current unrestricted license from the Texas or Arkansas Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners (applicable state to assigned clinic location) to practice as a licensed vocational nurse.

OR

• National certification as a Certified Medical Assistant

Preferred:

• One (1) year of practice experience as a CMA or LVN giving direct patient care
