The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a compassionate Clinical Social Worker to join the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics in Charleston. The role emphasizes comprehensive assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for children with developmental and behavioral challenges and their families.

Requirements include a Master's or Doctorate in social work, a South Carolina LISW license, and at least 4 years of related experience.

Current South Carolina LISW license.

Responsibilities

Assessment: Conduct evaluations of patients and families to identify needs, barriers, and strengths related to developmental, behavioral, and emotional health.
Treatment: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including counseling, psychoeducation, behavioral support, and brief therapeutic services for children and families.
Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, therapists, educators, and external providers to ensure integrated, family-centered care. Help families navigate systems such as schools, Medicaid, and disability services.
Advocate for patients and families by facilitating referrals to community resources and support services.
Document services and communications in accordance with MUSC policies, licensing standards, and HIPAA regulations.
Participate in team conferences, diagnostic evaluations, and care planning sessions.
Support program development and outreach initiatives within the community.
