Location: Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, Indiana

About Us: Riley Hospital for Children is a Level I pediatric trauma and burn center with over 65,000 emergency visits annually. We are dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric care, advancing health through innovative treatments, compassionate care, and research.

Position Overview: We seek an experienced Pediatric Clinical Specialist to join our emergency department team. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, ensure safety, and improve patient outcomes with a focus on pediatric pharmacotherapy. The ideal candidate has a background in pediatric pharmacy, emergency or critical care, and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide clinical recommendations
  • Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on medication safety and management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with pediatric pharmacotherapy advancements and contribute to education programs
  • Assist in code and trauma responses in high-acuity situations
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution
  • Active pharmacist license or eligibility in Indiana
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • PGY-2 Pediatric residency or equivalent clinical experience
  • Board Certification in Pediatric Pharmacy (BCPPS) preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred
