Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a pharmacist with hospital experience to counsel physicians, monitor drug therapies, and manage patient drug histories in a pediatric setting.

The role requires an ACPE-accredited PharmD, Illinois licensure eligibility, and strong data entry plus communication skills. The position offers competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Illinois.
• One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Possesses data entry skills or can learn computer data entry.
• Good communication skills and English reading/writing ability.

Responsabilités

• Participates in daily medical work rounds on day shift.
• Counsels physicians on drug therapies, dosing, pharmacokinetics and toxicities.
• Charts recommendations on patient progress notes when appropriate.
• Provides drug information to nurses, patients and parents.
• Monitors drug efficacies and patient outcomes via labs and status.
• Reviews and prioritizes physician orders for safety.
• Maintains patient profiles, narcotics and investigational drug records.
• Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals.
• Takes admitting drug histories to clarify allergies and home meds.
• Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitations and drug utilization reviews.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and participates in performance appraisals.
