Job summary

Driscoll Children's Hospital seeks a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) in Corpus Christi, TX. The NP will provide specialized care for children with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions, collaborating with pediatric intensivists and the care team to develop and implement treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a commitment to safe, family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master's or Post Master's Degree in nursing.
• Texas NP license with practice authority (PNP-AC).
• Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (CPNP-AC).
• Active RN and NP licenses in Texas.
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to children with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions in the CICU.
• Perform and document comprehensive histories, exams, and ongoing assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care with the care team.
• Write orders for medications, nursing care, labs, imaging, and other services.
• Review labs, imaging, vital signs, and clinical data.
• Coordinate continuity of care during hospitalization and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and families to identify discharge needs and follow-up care.
• Provide patient and family education and serve as a resource for staff.
