Job summary

BrightStar Care of Lubbock is seeking a dependable Pediatric Caregiver to support pediatric patients in Amarillo, TX. This PRN/As Needed role offers $13–$15 per hour with weekly pay, serving hospital settings and school transportation support for medically fragile students.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of pediatric care experience, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication skills. Prior healthcare or childcare experience is preferred.

• Complete required documentation and communicate observations to staff.

BrightStar Care is seeking dependable and compassionate caregivers to support pediatric patients in hospital settings and provide dedicated care for students with medical needs during school transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision and age-appropriate support to pediatric patients in hospital settings.

• Ride the school bus with a medically fragile student and provide dedicated support during the afternoon ride home from school.

• Monitor the student’s condition and respond to care needs within the scope of your role.

• Follow the student’s established care plan and promptly report concerns to the appropriate clinical team.

• Provide reassurance and support appropriate to the child’s age and needs.

• Follow applicable safety procedures, infection control practices, and HIPAA guidelines.

• Complete required documentation and communicate relevant observations to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least one year of experience caring for children.

• Experience in healthcare, pediatric care, childcare, education, or a related field preferred

• Ability to remain alert and attentive while supporting children in hospital or transportation settings.

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Strong communication skills and a dependable, professional work ethic.

Position Details

• PRN assignments based on staffing needs and availability.

• $13–$15 per hour for assigned shifts.
