Job summary

The University of Minnesota Medical School’s Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a Division Director of Pediatric Cardiology. This full-time academic leadership role offers the chance to shape pediatric cardiac care, research, and education in the Upper Midwest, with close collaboration to the Pediatric Heart Center and Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Ideal candidates will have significant leadership experience, a record of scholarly activity, and eligibility for Minnesota licensure.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent terminal degree; board certification in Pediatric Cardiology.
• ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship completed.
• Eligible for Minnesota medical licensure and DEA certificate.
• Minimum 5 years post-fellowship clinical experience in pediatric cardiology with leadership roles.
• Strong scholarly record commensurate with Associate Professor/Professor appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and the Pediatric Heart Center.
• Oversee clinical, research, and educational missions with a focus on collaboration with M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital.
• Engage in interdisciplinary and inter-institutional activities; teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Pursue scholarly work with time allocated for research and grant development.
• Foster partnerships between pediatric and adult cardiovascular care across the lifespan.
