Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Pensacola is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to work in partnership with Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola.

The role includes evaluation, treatment, and collaboration to improve quality of care, with involvement in academic activities and patient referrals for inpatient and outpatient services. Florida licensure and DEA are required.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Board certification or eligibility in pediatric cardiology.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA.
  • Advanced imaging skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure cost effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Adheres to and develops clinical pathways for standardized pediatric care.
  • Accepts patient referrals and acts as consulting physician for hospitalization needs.
  • Participates in academic programs and rounds with pediatric residents.
  • Provides documentation meeting insurance requirements and appeals denials timely.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultations including on-call.

Job description

Nemours Children’s Health, Pensacola is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to work in partnership with Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Adheres, contributes, and develops clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric medicine.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested. Rounds with pediatric residents in area of specialty.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call.
