Nemours Children’s Health, Pensacola, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to partner with Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. The role involves evaluating pediatric patients, developing standardized care pathways, and serving as the primary educator for residents.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats pediatric patients with appropriate diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Adheres to and develops clinical pathways to standardize pediatric care.
• Contributes to and supports cost-effective, quality patient care initiatives.
• Acts as admitting/attending/consulting physician for hospitalized patients as needed.
• Serves as the primary educator for pediatric residents.
• Completes documentation that meets insurer requirements and appeals denials when necessary.
• Participates in inpatient rounds with proper hand-offs to the next team.

Job Description

Nemours Children’s Health, Pensacola is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist to work in partnership with Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Adheres, contributes, and develops clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric medicine.
• Recommends, participates, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Providers will be the primary educator for the pediatric residents.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient rounds and provide appropriate hand-off to the next team.

About Ascension Sacred Heart Studer Family Children’s Hospital

• Studer Family Children’s Hospital is the region’s only children’s hospital and is a full-service pediatric facility including a dedicated pediatric emergency department/trauma center, 48 general pediatric beds, 10 Hem/Onc beds and a 75 bed NICU. The hospital utilizes the Cerner EMR.
• Sacred Heart was founded by the Daughters of Charity in 1915. The Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital opened their doors on April 1, 1969.
• While technology has improved dramatically, and the buildings have grown and expanded, the commitment to the mission remains steadfast: to provide excellent health care to all people, with special attention to the poor and vulnerable.
