Qualifications

  • RCS, RDCS, RVT, or RVS certification required upon hire.

Job description

Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

Our Non-Invasive Cardiology department is looking for top skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano Texas, 75093

Work hours: PRN, Fridays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; PRN for PTO coverage as needed

What You Will Need:

  1. H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
  2. Associate degree from accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred
  3. 1 year prior experience preferred
  4. RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer upon hire required OR
  5. RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer upon hire required OR
  6. RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist upon hire required OR
  7. RVS – Registered Vascular Specialist upon hire required AND
  8. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do:

  1. Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam.
  2. Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
  3. Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age related factors.
  4. Produces quality Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram, Transesophageal Echocardiogram, and/or Vascular studies following department policies and procedures, as well as IAC standards.
  5. Employs relevant guidelines set forth by ASE and SDMS, including scope of practice.
  6. Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology relevant to adult echocardiography.
  7. Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology relevant to vascular ultrasound.
