Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer preferred.
• RDMS with Pediatric Echocardiography preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II to join our dedicated team at the University of Maryland Pediatric Cardiology Clinic at the University of Maryland Downtown Campus. Candidate will possess the expertise to perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiograms on pediatric patients. This role requires a professional committed to delivering exceptional patient care and accurate imaging to support the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart conditions in children.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiographic examinations, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography as needed based on level of expertise at our downtown location as well as our outlying outreach locations.
• Utilize advanced techniques to obtain clear and diagnostic images of the heart and vascular structures.
• Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and patient management.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of sonographic equipment.
• Provide compassionate care and support to pediatric patients and their families throughout the imaging process.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in pediatric cardiac sonography.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer or equivalent role preferred.
• Certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) with a specialty in Pediatric Echocardiography or equivalent credentials preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
