Job description

The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physicians will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to serve the growing need of the regional pediatric population in Central Texas to deliver world class pediatric heart care.

Candidates will possess experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Opportunities for collaboration with medical and adjunct specialties will be encouraged to allow for the pursuit of innovative program development and clinical research initiatives.

Essential Functions:

• Oversight and provision of direct care to patients in the mixed PICU/PCICU
• Supervision of the critical care team
• Coordinated outreach efforts for the Center

Qualifications:

• Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for his/her specialty.
• Board certification or board eligible within two (2) years of completion of training.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment).
• Demonstrated leadership, clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence/motivate others at all professional and administrative levels.
• Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
• Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessary to drive the development and maintenance of established and new programs.
• A track record of being able to lead, direct, and influence a team (regardless of reporting lines). Demonstrates behaviors of a team player.
• Eligible for appointment as an assistant professor or higher in the Department of Pediatrics
