Job summary

Children’s Minnesota, a leading pediatric cardiovascular program in Minnesota, seeks an experienced clinician to care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the CVICU. The role encompasses pre- and post-operative management, hemodynamic stabilization, and complex respiratory support.

Responsibilities include performing arterial/central line placements, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertions, while collaborating with physicians and surgeons to implement individualized care

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current national certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Ideally 1-2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or similar high-acuity setting.
• Advanced knowledge of pediatric cardiology, critical care medicine, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Proficiency in performing advanced procedures.
• BLS and PALS certification required.
• Fellowship training in pediatric critical care or pediatric cardiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients, including pre-and post-operative management, hemodynamic stabilization, and complex respiratory support.
• Perform advanced procedures, including arterial and central line placement, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertion.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide 24/7 coverage across day, night, and weekend shifts in a high-acuity environment.
