The candidate will counsel families, perform assessments, order tests, and manage patient care with prescriptive authority, while contributing to staff education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Physician's Assistant or an RN with Texas nursing credentials.
• Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority in Cardiac CCU.
• Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and educates cardiac critical care patients and families about health conditions and options.
• Documents delivery of cardiac critical care and nursing processes per standards.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Obtains patient history and performs assessments in CCU.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic studies for cardiac CCU patients; conducts health assessments.
• Provides direct treatment and discharge planning for cardiac CCU patients.
• Other related duties as assigned.
