Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasound technology or a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science is required.
• 3 years of recent experience in performing adult or pediatric cardiac echocardiograms is preferred.
• Knowledge of congenital anomalies is preferred for all Pedi echo techs.
• Must pass the pediatric registry exam within two years of hire and before advancement.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds in accordance with ASE and/or IAC guidelines.
• Assist with intraoperative TEE, TEE in Cath labs, or at the bedside.
• Archive and calculate pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging with proper machine optimization and patient positioning.
• Use critical thinking to provide high-quality studies for normal and congenital defects.
• Learn and adapt to various ultrasound equipment, software, and protocols.
• Communicate with physicians for exam interpretation.
• Perform QC/QA and daily equipment maintenance per lab policies.
• Maintain lab supply par levels and clean rooms.
• Maintain annual CEU credits and engage in professional development.
• Precept new hires and participate in fellowship/resident training.
