Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN licensure or eligibility/compact state.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent for continued employment.
• Clinical Nurse I: no experience required.
• Clinical Nurse II: 12–24 months RN experience.
• Clinical Nurse III: 3 years clinical experience.
• Completion of RN to BSN program within specified timeframe is required unless grandfathered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age‑specific nursing care per physician orders and multidisciplinary plan.
• Safely administer medications and monitor for interactions and incompatibilities.
• Organize work, delegate tasks, and supervise team members as applicable.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and VCUHS policies and procedures.

Education

Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing

RN to BSN enrollment within 2 years

BSN preferred

AHA BLS HCP Certification
