Job summary

Pediatrics Plus in Texas is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage Medicaid, insurance, and private pay billing. You will ensure accurate claims, respond to providers and families, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records while supporting a patient-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred.
• 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and is responsible for all billing aspects including Medicaid, insurance, private pay billing and accounts receivable.
• Processes and bills insurance claims.
• Handles medical record requests from insurance companies.
• Reconciles payments received to payments posted in system.
• Provides excellent customer service over the phone to families and team members.
• Explains insurance billing scenarios to families and team members.
• Solves inconsistencies with insurance billing.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Processes and reconciles insurance paper checks weekly.
• Calls insurance companies to obtain/maintain pre-certification for patient therapies.
• Enters and updates data within deTASO.
• Participates in one-on-one meetings with leader.
• Responds positively to feedback concerning job performance.
• Communicates any needs or concerns with leadership.
• Maintains confidentiality and patient privacy to HIPAA standards.
• Upholds and incorporates the core values, mission, and philosophy of Pediatrics Plus into all job responsibilities.
• Displays an understanding of the leadership style of Pediatrics Plus.
• May perform other related and non-related duties, as assigned.
