Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center in Portsmouth, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse Supervisor to plan, direct, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents aged 7–18. The role requires adherence to nursing standards and patient safety within a residential setting.

Essential duties include delivering care per nursing process, supervising staff, administering medications, and coordinating crisis responses with leadership and medical staff. Opportunity for career growth within UHS family.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
• Licensed by Virginia as a Registered Nurse; CPR certification.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience with children/adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
• Ability to de-escalate and respond to crises per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per nursing process and policies.
• Monitor, document residents’ behavior and status.
• Administer medications and treatments per procedures.
• Guide responses to crises with Nursing leadership and physicians.
• Demonstrate clinical competence in milieu management.
• Report conditions accurately to oncoming shifts.
