Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Behaviorist to provide evaluations and interventions grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis, improving access to care for pediatric patients. The role collaborates with Child Evaluation Center, Institute for Child Development and hospital teams to implement behavior plans and education resources.

The position requires a Master’s in Special Education or related field, 5+ years with ASD, and state licensure/BCBA.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related human services field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Experience in evaluation, development and management of treatment plans for children and adolescents with complex behavioral challenges.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in behavior management, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with patients from early childhood to age 22 with ASD and other behavioral health conditions in pediatric ED and inpatient units.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to create immediate and short-term behavioral support plans.
  • Member of the response team for acute patients with ASD.
  • Collaborates on discharge planning and linkage to community resources.
  • Develops resources for team members and parents, including tip sheets and visual aids.
