Job summary

Pop-Up Talent in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a licensed Audiologist for the outpatient setting to assess hearing and vestibular function in children. The role involves evaluating pediatric patients, interpreting results, and educating families and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities include patient care, documentation, and coordinating care with physicians. This onsite position travels between Buerger and King of Prussia locations with flexible scheduling and potential for temp-to-perm

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in audiology required.
  • PhD strongly preferred.
  • Audiology license (PA) upon hire required.
  • CCC-A and Board Certification upon hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess hearing and/or vestibular function in pediatric patients using diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret test results and communicate findings to families and providers.
  • Assist in diagnosis and management of peripheral and central auditory disorders.
  • Counsel patients and families on hearing loss rehabilitation options and referrals.
  • Coordinate care transfers to other audiology staff as appropriate.
  • Schedule follow-ups and maintain clear communication with staff.

  • Responsibilities Include Audiological Assessment For Children And Providing Education/instruction To Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Providers As Appropriate, in the Outpatient Setting
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Functions
  • Patient Care – Evaluation: Independently assesses hearing and/or vestibular function through the use of diagnostic tests and other appropriate procedures, In Compliance with guidelines set by the department and regulating agencies
  • Documentation and Communication: Independently interprets test findings with prompt dissemination of results using professional oral and written communication
  • Aids physicians and other providers in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and central auditory disorders
  • Consuls patients and families, as well as other professionals, regarding hearing loss and options for (re)habilitation including, but not limited to hearing technology, communication options and educational services through the use of outcomes measures and referrals to appropriate service providers
  • Transfer of Care: Facilitates transfer of care to a managing Audiologist as appropriate
  • Communicates Plan to Patients and Families – Ensures appropriate scheduling of follow-up visit and communicates with other staff as needed
  • Administration: Maintains productivity and fiscal responsibility in the utilization/provision of services.
  • Education/Training and Research: Maintains competencies and knowledge of department policies and procedures, with the support of a Clinical Supervisor
  • Applies research to practice
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Possible Temp To Perm Role
  • Possibility for extension/conversion at the end of the assignment, if business needs align
Mandatory Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of licensed experience required
  • Ped preferred, not required
  • Pediatric medical-based setting preferred, not required
Mandatory Education
  • Master's degree in audiology required
  • PhD strongly preferred
Mandatory Licensure & Certifications
  • Audiology license (Pennsylvania) via Pennsylvania state licensing board upon hire required
Mandatory Licensure & Certifications
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) via American Speech-Language-Hearing Association upon hire required
  • Board Certification in Audiology via The American Board of Audiology upon hire required

  • Schedule – Dept is willing to entertain alternative schedules/ arrangements/ accommodate location preference case by case. Will consider case by case candidates who can only work part time hours – No 4x10s.
  • Full-time Ideal Need
  • 8:00-4:30 pm M-F Onsite
  • Floats between Locations – Not same day, primarily Buerger (at least 3 days) & KOP (as needed, likely 2 days)
