Job summary

Cook County Health’s Pediatric Anesthesiology section seeks an experienced Pediatric Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive anesthetic care for children from neonates to adolescents. The role includes leadership in patient assessment, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia care across hospital services.

You will contribute to resident training, quality assurance, and departmental projects while supporting in-house call coverage and collaboration with OR teams.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical college.

Responsibilities

• Provides anesthetic care throughout the hospital for pediatric and, when needed, adult patients.
• Performs preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia, and post-anesthesia care per JCAHO standards.
• Supervises CRNAs and participates in resident training.
• Covers multiple units including OR, Obstetrics, PACU, ICU and clinical settings.
• Evaluates patients, takes medical histories and assesses risk before procedures.
• Coordinates anesthesia administration with surgeons and OR staff.
