Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to provide individualized anesthetic plans for children and maintain vigilant intraoperative monitoring. You will collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality care and contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts within the Department of Anesthesiology.

The role requires MD or DO, board certification or active ABA candidacy, and strong communication, teamwork, and airway management skills.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Anesthesiology or ABA board-eligible.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in advanced airway management.
• Experience with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and create individualized anesthetic plans for children of all ages.
• Deliver general, regional, and local anesthesia for a wide range of surgeries, including complex cases.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and physiological functions during surgery.
• Respond to critical situations and manage potential complications.
• Collaborate with surgeons, staff, and other clinicians to ensure optimal care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
• Stay current on advances in pediatric anesthesia through ongoing learning.
