Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to support anesthesia care under the supervision of licensed anesthesiologists. The role includes preoperative data collection, catheter placement, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, airway and regional anesthesia management, and intraoperative monitoring to ensure safe, high-quality pediatric care.

Qualified candidates have an MS in Anesthesia from an accredited program, 1 year pediatric experience

Qualifications

  • MS in Anesthesia from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 1 year pediatric care experience preferred.
  • Must be current with CME credits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist anesthesiologists in delivering anesthesia care plans.
  • Collect preoperative data and perform physical examinations.
  • Place venous and arterial catheters as needed.
  • Deliver induction and maintenance medications.
  • Place and manage regional anesthesia and secure the airway.
  • Monitor intraoperative conditions and patient status.
  • Support postoperative pain assessment and management.
  • Engage in administrative duties, research, and education.
