Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to support anesthesia care delivery under supervision of licensed anesthesiologists. The role requires an MS in Anesthesia and DC CNA/CAA certification with pediatric experience and ongoing CME credits.

Responsibilities include data collection, airway and vascular access management, drug administration for induction/maintenance, and intraoperative monitoring.

Qualifications

  • MS in Anesthesia from an accredited program.
  • 1 year of pediatric care experience preferred.
  • Must be current with CME credits.
  • DC Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant upon hire.
  • NCCAA certification upon hire; PALS required

Responsibilities

  • Collect preoperative data and perform physical examinations.
  • Calibrate and test anesthesia equipment and monitors.
  • Administer induction and maintenance of anesthesia drugs.
  • Manage airway and regional anesthesia.
  • Support intraoperative hemodynamics and fluids.
  • Transition patient safely from OR to recovery.
  • Participate in administrative, research, and clinical instruction.
