Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s seeks a Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy to lead an integrated portfolio including Specialty Pharmacy and outpatient sites at Base, Liberty, Eastgate, and College Hill. The Director will oversee 83 staff and annual revenues exceeding $250 million while advancing access, quality, safety, and patient-family experience across ambulatory medication-use services.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree and Ohio pharmacist license.
• Minimum seven years of pharmacy leadership experience or PGY2 with ≥4 years leadership.
• Experience with pediatric pharmacy and 340B is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and daily leadership for Specialty Pharmacy and outpatient services at Base, Liberty, Eastgate, and College Hill.
• Advance a patient- and family-centered ambulatory pharmacy model to improve access and adherence.
• Lead operations across dispensing, counseling, inventory, access, QA and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with ambulatory clinics and service lines to expand embedded pharmacy services.
• Develop and coach managers, pharmacists, technicians, learners, fostering engagement and continuous improvement.
• Monitor financial performance, medication margins, payer trends, 340B opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy, accreditation, policies.
• Lead change management for growth, technology, workflow redesign, staffing.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle and Finance for prior authorization and billing coordination.
