Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory clinical care team. You will support licensed staff, scribe patient encounters, and assist with clerical tasks to ensure efficient patient flow.

The role includes preparing patients for exams, recording vitals, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate charting in the electronic health records system. Training and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system and obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Either EMT coursework completion; or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience; or a Medical Assisting education program; or a MA certification program.

Responsibilities

• Act as a medical scribe and assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
• Prepare patients for examinations and record vital signs per clinic procedures.
• Support licensed staff and assist with procedures, treatments and interactions with patients.
• Maintain and document accurate patient history and ensure proper charting in the electronic health records system.
• Assist with routine clerical functions such as filing, chart retrieval, and lab processes.
• Attend mandatory education including infection prevention, CPR and safety procedures.
